The 5G Challenge Announces Early Bird Contestants – But It’s Not Too Late to Apply!

Yesterday, NTIA announced the contestants from the Early-Bird applications. "After evaluating the Early-Bird white papers, the 5G Challenge selected Rakuten Mobile USA’s Central Unit (CU) and Distributed Unit (DU) for interoperability testing with the 5G Challenge host lab, CableLabs." Belal Hamzeh Takes Over CableLabs Convergence Projects

Belal Hamzeh, senior vice president and chief technology officer at CableLabs, takes over convergence projects. This responsibility includes "two major convergence-related projects The Convergence Council and the Mobile Convergence Committee (MCC). The Convergence Council is an advisory board largely made up of suppliers and connectivity vendors tasked with identifying convergence use cases.
