CableLabs Envision will take place April 20-21, 2021, 9:00-11:30 a.m. MDT on both days.
Envision Vendor Forum 2021: Mobile and Convergence is an event dedicated to executives, senior technologists and strategists who are creating next-generation service offerings that will not only deliver unique and seamless user experiences, but will do so efficiently and at lower costs and higher quality than today. Convergence, which seeks to merge wireline and wireless technologies into a singular, multi-modal communication platform that reduces network complexity, cuts operational costs, improves quality and creates new business and service opportunities.
CableLabs invites you to participate in the upcoming Mobile Summit focusing on Fixed Wireless Access (FWA).
The current global COVID-19 and the rise of 5G have renewed interest in FWA. As a tool, FWA accelerates the deployment of Internet-based broadband access services and support of remote-work and e-learning solutions. FWA has been in use commercially for more than 50 years in various forms, but more recent developments in technology have provided scale and lower cost options for different environments and use cases. While the FCC is making more spectrum available (sub6GHz and mmWave), options for broadband access continue to increase for both urban and rural deployments.
How can the cable industry successfully fend off the FWA threat and turn it into an opportunity? This question will be answered through CableLabs’ FWA innovation discussions and member insights.

The ongoing introduction of new high-bandwidth applications such as cloud/edge networking, 8K video streaming services and 5G mobile transport onto the market pushes the optical access systems toward higher data rates. In contrast with other solutions, the passive optical network (PON) is the prevailing broadband optical access solution for the foreseeable future. Single-wavelength 100G PON architecture emerges as a next-generation breakthrough innovation providing the necessary flexibility and capacity to enable all service providers to stay ahead of their convergence, business and residential needs.

Third Session – Convergence
CableLabs invites you to participate in the Mobile Summit Third Session focusing on the topic of Convergence. For operators, both those operating mobile networks today and those seeking to build new mobile capability, maintaining and managing separate wireline and wireless access networks with overlapping capabilities is not only inefficient and costly, it limits the type of services they will be able to provide in the future. Convergence seeks to merge these technologies into a singular, multi-modal communication platform that will help reduce network complexity, cut operational costs, improve quality and create new business and service opportunities.

CableLabs will have a variety of speakers represented at SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2020 Virtual Experience on October 12-15. Visit us again for updates closer to the event.
This year, CableLabs will deliver our exclusive annual NDA vendor event—Envision—in a two-part series online. The series will be held over September 29-30, 2020. The series will deliver the same kind of in-depth information and strategic discussions about key technologies with industry leaders and decision makers that we have provided in person in previous years.
Over these 2 days, we’ll feature exciting guest speakers from the industry, as well as CableLabs technologists and strategists, who will discuss HFC/Optical topics while answering questions that are crucial to our industry success.
Your company must have a CableLabs NDA account to access this event. No press allowed
Interop·Labs Events provide vendors with the opportunity to test their products in a multi-vendor environment and/or with Kyrio-provided testing platforms.
In order to ensure interoperable implementations of the CableLabs Specifications, CableLabs and Kyrio are hosting the interoperability event for Low Latency DOCSIS to provide vendors an opportunity to test pre-production and development versions of hardware devices and software applications. The event will provide a variety of manufacturers an opportunity to work together by remote connection to the Kyrio laboratory to develop and test interoperable solutions.
The 2nd session of the CableLabs Mobile Summit will be on Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) architectures and enablers for seamless transition and service continuity across converged Wi-Fi, 4G and 5G networks.
This is a member-only event. Registration is open and the cost to attend is free. Each person must register separately.
