Innovation Boot Camp is a 3 ½ day intensive workshop for anyone wanting to be more creative, influential and impactful with new ideas. This leadership training is based on the FIRE framework and methodology developed by Phil McKinney, Author, Syndicated Radio Show Host and CEO of CableLabs.

Phil McKinney is President and CEO of CableLabs. In this capacity he heads the research and development organization responsible for charting the cable industry’s technology and innovation roadmap.
Prior to joining CableLabs, he was the vice president and chief technology officer of the $40 billion (FY12) Personal Systems Group at HP. He was responsible for long-range strategic planning, research and development (R&D) and product roadmaps for the company’s PC product lines, including mobile devices, notebooks, desktops and workstations. In addition, Phil was founder and leader of HP’s Innovation Program Office (IPO). The IPO was chartered to identify, incubate and launch adjacent and fundamentally new technologies, products and services that would become the future growth engines for HP.
Recently (February 2012), Phil released his first book on innovation and personal creativity titled Beyond The Obvious, published by Hyperion. The book is available in hardcover, digital and audio formats. The book will soon be available in Russian, Chinese, Portuguese (Brazil), Korean and Japanese.

Steve Glennon
Distinguished Technologist of Advanced Technology Group, CableLabs
Steve Glennon leads, creates and develops innovations with multi-billion-dollar market impact for the benefit of the worldwide cable industry. Having worked with digital human representation and holographic telepresence in virtual and augmented reality for several years, his current focus is on delivering ultra-low latency access networks to support lag-free gaming, and ultimately to support distributed rendering of VR and AR. He is also working to revolutionize how Wi-Fi is used for mobility.
Prior to CableLabs, Glennon held roles in business development, software architecture and software engineering management.
Glennon spent twenty-five years developing high-volume digital video platforms and products, including over fifteen million digital satellite set-top boxes and some of the earliest video products for the PC while at IBM. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member in the University of Colorado – Boulder’s Inter-Disciplinary Telecommunications Program and holds fifteen patents for hardware and software systems.
Glennon earned a Bachelors degree in Physics and a Masters degree in Electronics at the University of Durham.

Lori is a Colorado native with a passion for human development. Lori spent 18 years in the field of Human Resources in the healthcare industry before joining CableLabs in 2015 as a Talent Development Partner. She is now part of the CableLabs executive team as the Vice President of Human Resources with a focus on strategic talent management. Holding a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, her favorite accomplishments have been to create meaningful and motivational leadership academy programs and team building strategies which increase employee engagement and overall organizational performance. When not at work, Lori is passionate about music which includes singing, fostering her two childrens’ love of music, and attending music festivals and live concerts at every opportunity.

Chad in his role as Program Manager, has a significant focus on Innovation at CableLabs. Since mid-2015, innovation has been central to his career. Chad is an advocate for creativity, developing good ideas, and helping bring those ideas to life, and to market. Prior to his focus in innovation, Chad spent the majority of his career in software, managing and leading software development and software architecture teams, as well as, architecting, and developing software across various industries predominantly with Utilities, Telecommunications, and Agriculture. Chad obtained his bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Maryland College Park. Chad enjoys working with peers to create world class solutions to the problems they have.

Dan Smith
Patent Director, CableLabs
Dan Smith is the Patent Director at CableLabs working on everything from optical and quantum computing, virtual reality, self-organizing networks, data backhaul systems, wireless communications and co-existence, etc. In this role he facilitates brain storming sessions in all technology areas, works with Jud Cary to manage CableLabs’ intellectual property (IP), and drafts and prosecutes CableLabs’ patents. Dan is also the CEO of The Cairn Group, a patent prosecution company which provides a business perspective to IP for start-ups and small companies, and founder of The Spot Bouldering Gym.

Lisa Warther has over 20 years’ experience implementing innovation projects and ideas at companies of all sizes, from Start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. She loves taking an idea and figuring out how to make it work in reality. Lisa’s passion, determination, and love of learning merges together as she works to implement her innovation projects. She is a Certified Project Manager and Scrum Master and leverages agile methodologies in implementations. When Lisa is not busy implementing new ideas, you can find her on some sort of adventure.
