Comcast announced today that it will begin deploying DOCSIS® 4.0-enabled 10G network services to customers in Colorado next week — a first for the cable broadband industry.

Xfinity customers in Colorado Springs will have access to “X-Class Internet,” Comcast’s new brand of service tiers offering symmetrical speeds of 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps. The deployment uses technology based on the latest iteration of CableLabs’ Full Duplex DOCSIS technology.
