SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2017: Booth #169

SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2017: Booth #169

Description

CableLabs and Kyrio will be hosting a booth at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2017.  To provide you with a sneak peek of what we plan to show at the event, below are highlights of six demonstrations:

Full Duplex DOCSIS® 3.1 Technology
Discover how CableLabs is significantly increasing upload and download speeds for a richer online experience, and learn about the next evolution of DOCSIS technology. Full Duplex DOCSIS 3.1 enables multi-Gbps symmetric services over the HFC network. As new technologies and applications emerge that will enable new experiences for the customers, see how our networks will be prepared to support speed and latency requirements.

Coherent Optics
CableLabs is bringing robust techniques for significantly improving optical spectrum efficiency to the part of the network that connects cable headends to fiber endpoints. Coherent optical link with 100/200-Gb/s data rate per single wavelength will be demonstrated based on PM-QPSK/16QAM modulation formats with simplified DSP and configurations for access implementations. The signal will transmit over 80-km single mode fiber with error-free performance after forward error correction.

Wi-Fi Proactive Network Maintenance
Understand how Wi-Fi Proactive Network Maintenance is enabling standards-based, enterprise-class remote troubleshooting in the residential Wi-Fi market. The cable industry spends over a billion dollars every year on troubleshooting residential Wi-Fi; primarily due to a lack of visibility into the home. The Wi-Fi PNM project addresses this gap and establishes a common collection framework which can be leveraged by analytics vendors, customer support agents, or any other big data analysis effort. A field trial is already underway with seven MSOs in five countries, proving that we can remotely identify and address common wireless issues.

Dual Channel Wi-Fi
As the number of Wi-Fi devices within the home increases, the demand on home Wi-Fi networks also increases. The result is a poor Wi-Fi experience and additional customer support issues such as excessive application timeouts, network latency, and data dropouts. See how Dual-Channel Wi-Fi addresses the problem by delivering data in a better way and greatly reducing customer support needs while improving the Wi-Fi experience on both Dual-Channel Wi-Fi-enabled clients and legacy Wi-Fi clients.

Secure IoT Reference Design by Kyrio
Learn how to implement IoT device security with the use of digital certificates (no security knowledge required!). Kyrio will be demonstrating a WiFi-connected temperature sensor with a pre-provisioned OpenADR test certificate. This state-of-the-art implementation provides fully-applied device security with complete network connectivity.

Virtual Reality Lab Tour by Kyrio
Curious about the Kyrio and CableLabs lab facilities? Join us for a short virtual reality lab tour and see our industry-leading testing equipment and capabilities. We’ll take you through our headend, modem, IoT, and wireless testing capabilities, and our test engineers will be on hand to answer questions after the tour.
