CableLabs and it’s subsidiary, Kyrio Inc., provide lab testing of network equipment for cable, PON, and mobile operators and their suppliers. CableLabs executes certification testing programs as well as operator acceptance testing programs.

Testing Services Lab

CableLabs and it’s subsidiary, Kyrio Inc., offer the facilities and expertise required to test Wi-Fi, Passive Optical Networking (PON) and 4G/5G equipment. It is the first Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) Open Test and Integration Center in the Americas, used for the testing of interoperable RAN equipment for mobile networks.

In addition, the Testing Services Lab is an authorized certification lab for devices designed to any version of CableLabs DOCSIS technologies and PacketCable™ 1.5.  A device with a “CableLabs Certified” or “CableLabs Qualified” rating has passed a series of compliance tests and has demonstrated interoperable functionality with other CableLabs Certified devices. Developed in cooperation with cable operators and cable equipment manufacturers, this premier certification lab is designed to facilitate the manufacture of interoperable cable devices, including cable modems, set-top boxes, digital TV devices and telephony equipment.

The Testing Services Lab holds ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).

Meet our lab expert

Taylor Gordon

Taylor Gordon is Manager of Wired Testing for CableLabs, focusing on DOCSIS testing. He is responsible for the CableLabs Certification program, as well as several Multiple System Operator (MSO) test programs within wired testing.

Gordon has been a full-time employee in the lab services team for six years. He began his career as an intern at CableLabs while finishing his bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology at Brigham Young University–Idaho.
