Ajit Pai, FCC chairman, has drafted a proposal to open the 6GHz band for unlicensed wireless broadband. “With millions of Americans relying on broadband networks to remain connected and productive while practicing social distancing, the need for WiFi sharing in 6 GHz has never been more clear to more people," said Charter in a statement. "The FCC’s proposed 6 GHz Order will open up critical resources to improve WiFi performance as workers, students, patients, healthcare providers, and financial institutions rely increasingly on online connectivity." CableLabs is excited to announce the appointment of Rakesh Taori as its Vice President of Wireless. On May 1, 2020, CableLabs’ Distinguished Technologist, Dr. Jennifer Andreoli-Fang, will receive the prestigious Woman in Technology award for her contribution to the cable industry. The award is presented by Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) Rocky Mountain chapter, one of the oldest and largest organizations dedicated to advancing the position and influence of women in the telecommunications field. Jennifer has spent the last 12 years leading the development of state-of-the-art broadband wireline and mobile wireless technologies. Josh Redmore, Principal Architect at CableLabs, has officially become a Wireless Network Expert! The CWNE certification assures that "you have mastered all relevant skills to administer, install, configure, troubleshoot and design wireless network systems." In addition, CWNE candidates need to demonstrate a deep understanding of: Protocol analysis Intrusion detection and prevention Performance and QoS analysis Spectrum analysis and management Advanced design So far, only 265 people in America have received this certification, congratulations Josh!
