// NewsSolving Latency in Wi-Fi Networks – L4S and Beyond
Latency performance in Wi-Fi networks has largely been an afterthought, with performance metrics focused instead on throughput. In many networks, the throughput (or capacity) of the wireless channel may be sufficient, but the user experience suffers due to high and widely-varying latency. For some use-cases, managed quality of service features can be used to improve application outcomes for selected applications. But recently, significant work aims to improve Wi-Fi latency broadly, without requiring the network to select which applications benefit and which applications suffer.
Join Greg White, Distinguished Technologist in the Advanced Technology Group at CableLabs, at Wireless Global Congress APAC 2026 for an introduction to the causes of latency in Wi-Fi networks, and the solutions that are being developed to address them. Greg’s session begins on January 27 at 6:30 p.m. Discover more about the agenda and more information about the WGC APAC 2026 conference.
