Certification

Working in cooperation with cable operators and cable equipment manufacturers, CableLabs has developed various specifications to facilitate the manufacture of interoperable cable devices, including cable modems, set top boxes, digital televisions and telephony. “CableLabs Certified^®” or “CableLabs Qualified” means that the device has passed a series of tests for compliance with the applicable Specification, and has thus demonstrated interoperable functionality with other CableLabs certified devices. Interoperable devices based on common specifications facilitate consumer choice, wide spread deployment of new technologies, and lower costs to both cable operators and consumers.
