CableLabs and Zoom Showcase AI-Driven Framework Designed to Enhance Network and App Performance
CableLabs and Zoom announced the successful completion of a collaborative pilot validating Quality by Design (QbD), a framework designed to help broadband networks and applications share data in real time. The framework enables the exchange of performance metrics such as latency, jitter, and packet loss, creating a single, clearer view of performance and allowing issues to be identified and resolved automatically. By combining application data with network data, QbD is designed to improve the user experience while preserving privacy across different access technologies.
The pilot also informed development of Zoom’s Client as a Sensor capability, introduced in version 6.1.0, which allows application performance data to be integrated into the QbD framework to support real-time network improvements. The pilot marks progress toward more advanced, self-optimizing networks that use real-time data and AI-driven approaches to continuously improve performance.
