CableLabs will participate in COWA-Con, a half-day event hosted by the Colorado Wireless Association, with a session focused on the future of spectrum and the development of next-generation wireless technologies. Titled “The Future of Spectrum and 6G,” the session will take place in Denver on April 22, 2026, from 4:00–4:50 p.m. and will feature Mark Poletti, senior director at CableLabs. He will discuss how spectrum allocation, sharing models and evolving standards are shaping the future of connectivity, as well as how wireless technologies are increasingly intersecting with other forms of network infrastructure to influence broadband, mobility and enterprise connectivity.

Poletti will also provide insight into how spectrum policy, regulatory developments and emerging use cases are guiding the direction of the communications ecosystem, along with realistic timelines for future spectrum releases and early 6G development.

Communications networks are facing a rising wave of theft, vandalism and deliberate attacks, creating a growing threat to critical infrastructure across the United States. In a separate session titled “Defending the Networks: Protecting America’s Communications Infrastructure,” scheduled from 2:20–3:05 p.m., Derek DiGiacomo, senior director at SCTE, will present data on more than 15,000 reported incidents between mid-2024 and mid-2025 affecting over 9.5 million customers and examine what these disruptions mean for national network resiliency.

COWA-Con offers attendees the opportunity to hear from industry experts, learn about key trends and better understand how advancements in wireless technology may impact network design and operations in the years ahead. Check out the full agenda.
