CableNET® Once Again Brings New Technology to the Western Show

Louisville, Colorado, October 14, 2003—CableNET®, the broadband industrys premiere technology showcase, has announced its list of about 45 broadband demonstrations in this years exhibit, including 14 in its interactive centerpiece. The exhibit is part of The Western Show at the Anaheim Convention Center December 2-5.

Now in its 11th year, CableNET magnifies the true value of broadband services by once again offering a hands-on experience with many of the most exciting interactive services now available.

Among the demonstrations are more than a dozen exhibits of interactive technology, including an end-to-end display of OpenCable™ Application Platform (OCAP™) technology from Advanced Digital Broadcast, Inc. Other highlights include a whole house video and multimedia distribution system from Entropic Communications and a PacketCable™-qualified call management server from Syndeo Corp. In addition, Go2BroadbandSM, in conjunction with the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), will be demonstrating the consumer website used to support the cable industrys latest service offerings.

The theme of this years original CableNET exhibit is Imagine That, and it will include displays of true broadband services and examples of how the evolving broadband technology has expanded to include more business-to-business solutions that keep cable services innovative and competitive. The entire CableNET® 03 exhibit will cover about 10,000 square feet on the Anaheim Convention Center show floor.

This years CableNET continues our tradition of having a powerful demonstration of cables broadband might at The Western Show, said Dr. Richard R. Green, CableLabs President and CEO. We have worked hard to make this years demonstration the best ever.

The CableNET exhibits have been co-sponsored by the California Cable & Telecommunications Association (CCTA) and Cable Television Laboratories (CableLabs®) as educational forums. They demonstrate the potential of the cable industrys hybrid fiber/coaxial systems, and the expanding number of video, telecommunications, and entertainment applications such systems will deliver to cable customers. For additional information on CableNET go to www.cablenet.org. In 2004, CableNET will move to the National Show, to be held in early May in New Orleans.

CableNET continues to provide this industry with a great vehicle for displaying what kinds of broadband services may be sent to consumers over cables broadband network, said Spencer Kaitz, president, CCTA. Its an important forum that was launched at our show and which has greatly assisted companies, careers and products over the past decade. I am looking forward with great anticipation to seeing what new products and services this years participants in CableNET are bringing to our industry.
