Bill Riker Leaving SCTE to Join Cable Center and Museum and CableLabs® | |
As of June 15, he will become vice president of operations and engineering at the National Cable Television Center and Museum in Denver, and will begin working jointly for one year with Cable Television Laboratories, Inc. (CableLabs®), which is the technical advisory organization to the Center and Museum. At CableLabs, Riker's duties will include serving as a liaison with the SCTE on standards matters. The one-year period of joint work will cover the period of time before construction begins on the Cable Center and Museum. At the Cable Center and Museum, Riker will oversee development of a $15 million construction project, creation of educational programs for the industry, and operation of the 45,000-square-foot facility. He will be reporting directly to Cable Center and Museum President Marlowe Froke. |
