CableNET®, the cable industry's showcase of innovative services and technologies, will again be a featured exhibit at the industry''s premier convention, The 2008 Cable Show, CableLabs® and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) said recently.

The 2008 Cable Show, to be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans from May 18–20, 2008, is NCTA's 57th Annual Convention & International Exhibition.

CableNET is designed to highlight a wide variety of next-generation broadband services as well as technologies that cable operators are expected to deliver to consumers in the near term. Past CableNETs have showcased early generations of interoperable cable modems, voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and OpenCable Platform advanced interactive digital video technology prior to consumer market deployment. These technologies now serve as platforms for new businesses for cable operators.

CableLabs and NCTA provide a turnkey solution as part of this integrated showcase exhibit within an exhibit, so that participating companies are provided with the key logistics of their demonstration. Companies interested in participating in CableNET may find more information as well as a request for proposals at www.cablenet.org.

“CableNET continues to serve as a showcase for broadband technology, as well as a way to get a glimpse of where cables technology and services are headed. I think it's a must see for show attendees who are interested in cable's future,” said CableLabs President and CEO Dr. Richard R. Green.

“CableNET is an important destination for visitors walking the exhibit floor because it provides vendors the opportunity to showcase a wide variety of innovative services that are made possible by cable's robust network,” said Kyle McSlarrow, NCTA President & CEO.
