The 15th Annual CableNET® Will |

CableNET® once again will be part of The Cable Show and will highlight some of the newest technology and services that the cable industry is delivering, CableLabs® announced recently. The 2007 Cable Show, to be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas from May 7–9, 2007, is the 56th Annual Convention & International Exhibition sponsored by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA). CableNET celebrates its 15th anniversary this year as an educational technology showcase designed to highlight a wide variety of next-generation broadband technologies and services that cable operators are expected to deliver to consumers in the near term. Past CableNETs have showcased early generations of interoperable cable modems, voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and advanced interactive digital video technology prior to consumer market deployment. CableNET provides an opportunity for cable technologists to demonstrate how the industry is maintaining its technology leadership position in an increasingly competitive marketplace. The CableNET exhibit in Las Vegas will emphasize next generation broadband content and applications with technology as an enabling tool; demonstrate innovations in products and services including advanced VoIP; and highlight the benefits of the industry's cutting-edge broadband services. 2007 will mark the fourth year that CableNET—which is sponsored jointly by CableLabs and NCTA—is featured at the cable industry's annual convention. Companies interested in participating in CableNET may find more information at www.cablenet.org; an RFP for exhibitors was issued on December 15, 2006. “CableNET continues to serve as a one-stop touch point for those people interested in seeing where the broadband world is headed. CableNETs of the past became the first public display in which cable modems, cable VoIP and advanced interactive services were featured,” said CableLabs President and CEO Dr. Richard R. Green. ”CableNET is always one of the premier destinations for visitors walking the exhibit floor at The Cable Show because it provides our industry the opportunity to showcase the exciting services that make cable a technology leader,” said Kyle McSlarrow, President & CEO, NCTA. |
