The somewhat circular design was chosen for its feeling of action and "revolution." The site makes use of javascript "rollovers" to enhance navigation throughout the site, informing users of the type of information contained in the various areas of the site.

Two new areas have been added to the web site: Technology and Demos. The Technology area provides information on new technologies that CableLabs is investigating. One of the primary missions of CableLabs is to assist companies in fostering the development of technologies relevant to the cable industry and to transfer knowledge of these technologies to members. This new web area also allows companies to submit their technologies to CableLabs for review.

The Demos area showcases those cable-related technologies that CableLabs is currently demonstrating, both at CableLabs and at our conferences.

The redesigned web site focuses more attention on CableLabs employment opportunities than previously. The employment area has been expanded to include useful information about Colorado and what the state has to offer its residents in the way of education, housing, and recreation.

Visitors will also find that collateral sites (www.cablemodem.com, ww.packetcable.com, www.opencable.com, and y2k.cablelabs.com) have incorporated the new CableLabs web design.
