CableLabs® and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) have issued a request for proposals (RFP) for participation in CableNET® ’05 to be held at The 2005 National Show, NCTA’s 54th Annual Convention & International Exposition, scheduled for April 3-6, 2005, at The Moscone Center in San Francisco. The National Show is the cable & telecommunication industry's principal annual trade show.

The deadline for responses to the RFP is Friday, December 17, 2004. The document is available at www.cablenet.org.

Now in its 13th year, CableNET highlights the value of broadband services by offering a hands-on experience with many of the technologies that cable operators may provide in the next several years. The 10,000-square-foot CableNET® exhibit is designed as an educational forum to feature technology demonstrations by companies from a wide variety of industries supporting the cable industry, including services and applications that cable companies will deliver to their customers via cable's hybrid fiber/coax (HFC) telecommunications networks. CableNET enables show attendees to see and to discuss new technologies, such as interactive services and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), with experts from supplying companies.

NCTA is the principal trade association of the cable television industry in the United States. NCTA represents cable operators serving more than 90 percent of the nation's cable television households and more than 200 cable program networks, as well as equipment suppliers and providers of other services to the cable industry.
