Because the specifications concern interoperability between different vendors, certification of one vendor's equipment will involve other vendor's equipment. This is an inescapable circumstance if a CableLabs® Certified™ product is to be moved without delay to the marketplace.
Product submitted for testing will be evaluated using objective and verifiable criteria. Certification decisions will be made fairly and equitably, using non-discriminatory criteria consistently applied. Decisions of the Certification Board may be reviewed and ratified by the CableLabs Board of Directors. Neither the Certification Board nor CableLabs staff may solicit or accept anything of value from a vendor seeking certification. All vendor communication should be directed to the appropriate Project Manager, except where specified otherwise through CableLabs communications.
After Certification Wave testing has concluded and the Certification Boards have reviewed the data, the results for a particular product will be shared with the vendor submitting that product. If Certification is not awarded, the Certification Board will share information with the vendor as to why the product failed. The vendor may remedy the issue(s) and re-submit for a future certification wave per these guidelines.
